Our newly formed Merstham Blues followed our Blacks team on the rec, and took on @reigatewomenfc in their first 7-aside match of the season. It was a fast paced and energetic match, with both teams taking a bit of time to settle. Merstham had some good early chances but Reigate got the first goal, with clever overloading at the front. However, Lina got the Blues first goal just before half time and that brought a new level of confidence to the team.

In the second half, goals number 2 (Ria) and 3 (Lina) came quickly and then the ladies determinedly and excitingly held their lead, with some great saves from Katie. In the last few minutes of the game, Lina scored our fourth goal and earnt herself a hatrick Final score: 4-1 to Merstham!

Such an exciting start to the season and we can’t wait to play together again!
